Thanks to Nate Bouley for bringing this to ABL's attention.
Random thoughts -- and helpful links and resources -- from a Buffalo lawyer who loves practicing law. My practice focuses on federal, municipal, and appellate litigation. My name is Jeremy A. Colby and I approve of this Blawg -- which does not represent the thoughts or views of my past, present or future: firm(s), clients, employers, schools, professors, educators, friends, and/or relatives (herein collectively defined as "Anyone Else"). See "Disclaimer" below.
This Complaint is a better read than some of CPSG's other work -- ABL represents some of the numerous parties sued by CPSG in an unrelated case that does not involve the Holy See or the CIA. Generally speaking, this action relates to the CIA's denial of CPSG's FOIA request for information about a Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, S.J., who died on April 10, 1955. Apparently, Fr. de Chardin "was a French Jesuit priest trained as a paleontologist and a philosopher, and was present at the discovery of Peking Man, and conceived such idea as the Omega Point and Noosphere, and who is the father of cosmology necessary for Liberation Theology and the New Age movement. [sic] used by the CIA in domestic and foreign operations as an infringement of Plaintiff's liberty, freedoms and first amendment rights."
ABL welcomes Canadian residents and businesses with questions concerning the American legal system, New York legal issues, or cross-border issues. Several of you have contacted me recently, including the Ottawa Citizen (no grudges for knocking the Sabres out a few years back).
